APPROVED APPLICATION IN SOUTH CROYDON – SUPPORTED BY KRONEN’S TRANSPORT TECHNICAL NOTE
KRONEN have supported proposals that were recently approved by Croydon Council Planning Sub-Committee. The proposals sought a new house at land at Kendall Avenue / Victoria Avenue near Purley Oaks Station. The proposals included an access and parking space next to the site boundary; given the access arrangements robust justification was needed with regards to vehicle-to-pedestrian sightlines (a matter of concern to Croydon Council officers across all sites / proposals). Knowing technical guidance on these matters dating back 30 years to “Design Bulletin 32, 2nd Ed” (DoE / DoT, 1992), the technical argument ultimately centred on recent revisions to “National Planning Policy Framework” (MHCLG, 2021) with new Footnote 46 which was included specifically to reinforce good / best practice from “Manual for Streets” (DCLG / DfT, 2007) and give Manual for Streets a greater planning weight for planning decisions and … Continue reading

Approved Application and Parking Survey, Eastcote, Hillingdon
The London Borough of Hillingdon approve a planning application for new build block of flats on Elm Avenue in Eastcote. The application was supported by KRONEN’s on-street parking surveys carried out in accordance with “Lambeth Methodology” (“Lambeth Council Parking Survey Guidance Note” (Lambeth Council, 2021)). As the proposal was for 6 × flats with 4 × off-street parking spaces the potential for overspill parking and associated parking impact had to be assessed in the parking survey report. The London Borough of Hillingdon planning reference was “60130/APP/2021/4249” for the “Demolition of existing dwelling and erection a residential building housing 6 flats with associated bins and cycle provision. Removal of corner drop kerb and creation of new drop kerb and widening of front drop kerb” at 59 Elm Avenue, Eastcote. We were working with RAA Planning and B-12 Development. The approval followed … Continue reading
