Recently Brighton & Hove City Council granted permission for a new residential development.
The application site comprised of a large Victorian school building constructed in the 1880s located on Preston Road in Brighton.
The application sought to redevelop the building to provide 25 car free apartments.
The Transport Statement report set out the existing site, the site’s accessibility using sustainable transport modes, the adjoining highway network, the proposals, the proposal’s transport impact and integration with planning policy and guidance.
Primary planning policy and guidance was: Brighton & Hove City Plan Part One (Brighton & Hove CC, 2016), Supplementary Planning Document 14 Parking Standards (Brighton & Hove CC, 2016) and The National Planning Policy Framework (DCLG, 2012).
The statement was prepared in accordance with Department for Communities & Local Government’s National Planning Practice Guidance: Travel plans, transport assessments and statements in decision-taking [Online] http://planningguidance.planningportal.gov.uk/blog/guidance/travel-plans-transport-assessments-and-statements-in-decision-taking/.
All work was delivered on-time and within budget.
