Approved Residential Application and Parking Survey in Wimbledon

Last week Merton Council virtual planning committee approved a planning application for 8 × apartments with retained existing dropped kerbs and vehicle access serving 2 × off-street parking spaces.

KRONEN were working alongside Inspire Planning Solutions (planning consultants and agents).

The application was supported by KRONEN’s Parking Survey report carried out in accordance with the “Lambeth Methodology” (‘Lambeth Council Parking Survey Guidance Note‘ (Lambeth Council, 2012)).

The application followed previous unsuccessful schemes supported by others (refused application “15/P3917” and dismissed appeal “APP/T5720/W/16/3150312” for a mixed use redevelopment for a day nursery and 7 × apartments with 2 × off-street parking spaces and refused application “16/P0350” and dismissed appeal “APP/T5720/W/16/3150319” for redevelopment for 9 × apartments with 4 × off-street parking spaces).

Merton Council’s planning reference for the recent approval was “19/P3400” for the “demolition of existing two storey commercial building and erection of a three storey residential block providing 8 x self-contained flats” at 2 Church Lane, Merton Park, SW19 3NY.

The Parking Survey site is within a reasonable walk distance of Wimbledon town centre and Wimbledon Station.
