Last week Croydon Council approved a planning application for alterations and extensions to a 3-bedroom detached bungalow to create 5 \u00d7 apartments; the scheme retains the existing vehicle access and 1 \u00d7 garage parking space.<\/p>\n

KRONEN were working alongside Barnes Design (architects and agents). <\/p>\n

The application was supported by KRONEN\u2019s Parking Survey <\/a>report carried out in accordance with the \u201cLambeth Methodology\u201d (\u2018Lambeth Council Parking Survey Guidance Note\u2018 (Lambeth Council, 2012)).<\/p>\n

Croydon Council\u2019s planning reference for the approval was \u201c20\/01691\/FUL\u201d for the \u201cDemolition of the existing roof, and erection of a first floor extension with hipped roof over to create a two-storey building, associated alterations for the conversion of dwelling to provide 5 units with associated landscaping, refuse and cycle storage\u201d at Windsor Lodge, Purley Rise, Purley, CR8 3AW.<\/p>\n

Croydon Council’s Officer’s Report noted the importance of the Parking Survey in the officers’ impact assessment of the proposals:<\/p>\n

“As the site is located within a sustainable location which provides a good level of public transport accessibility, the applicant was requested to submit a car parking stress survey to demonstrate that the existing street is capable of accommodating any overspill car parking as a result of the proposed development. The conclusions of the survey were that there is currently a low parking stress of 18% on the street and that there will be a likely increase to 23% as a result of the proposed development.<\/p>\n

The council\u2019s highways officer has reviewed the car parking stress survey and it is considered that the overspill car as a result of the proposed development will have a minimal impact on the existing street parking stress.”<\/p>\n
