Success – Approved Application and Parking Survey, East Sheen, Richmond

The London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames approve a planning application for five flats and commercial space (reconfigurations) on Upper Richmond Road West in East Sheen.

The application was supported by Kronen’s on-street parking surveys carried out in accordance with London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames’ informal parking survey guidance.

The proposal was for alterations and extensions to create five flats and amended ground floor commercial space without off-street parking (due to the physical constraints of the site), accordingly the potential for overspill parking and associated parking impact had to be assessed in the parking survey report

The on-street parking surveys found well parked streets as such robust transport planning justification using detailed local Census and Development Plan analysis was required.

The London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames planning reference was 18/0866/FUL.

Details below:

Site – 422 Upper Richmond Road West, East Sheen, London.

Description – “Extension and alterations to existing 2 no. retail units and 1 no. 3-bedroom residential unit to provide 1 no. A1/A2/B1 unit and 5 no. residential units, including provision of lower ground floor level and rear dormers”.

The architect and project manager, Terence Kearney, has kindly provided the following testimonial for the parking work:

“Kronen have advised me on planning applications in Richmond Borough over the last few years. The Transport Policy which is implemented by the council seems completely illogical, arbitrary and inflexible to me, but Alex has always been able to suggest different alternatives and to negotiate with council officers to satisfy their requirements.”
